Grasslands are vast areas covered with grasses and small leafy plants. The grassland seems like an endless ocean of grass. The soil of the temperate grasslands is deep and dark.

There are two types of grasslands, tropical grasslands and temperate grassland. Tropical grassland or savannas, there is very little seasonal change in temperature but the seans change from wet to very dry. Temperate grasslands have hot summers and cold winters.
